About The Wine

Haldon Estate Shiraz 2018 is a fine and elegant Beechworth Shiraz with deep colour, savoury complexity and beautifully fresh fruit character. This is not an overblown style of Shiraz, instead it shows the cooler climate character of Beechworth, with spice, earthy detail, red berry lift and silky texture.

The 2018 vintage offers notes of cloves, plums, baked cherries, allspice and black pepper, with a dusty earth character typical of Beechworth’s granitic soils. The palate is soft and layered, with mulberry, raspberry licorice, gentle leather notes and silky tannins carrying through the finish.

About the Winery

Haldon Estate is a small Beechworth producer located just minutes from the centre of town. The vineyard was established in 2010 and is managed along organic principles, without the use of herbicides. Its soils include red and yellow soil over coarse conglomerate, sand, silt and clay, helping create wines with regional character and depth.

Beechworth is one of Victoria’s most respected cool climate wine regions, known for expressive reds with structure, spice, freshness and savoury complexity. Haldon Estate Shiraz captures that regional style beautifully, offering a polished, age worthy expression with fruit purity and earthy detail.
