Chalk Hill Luna Shiraz 2022 is a polished McLaren Vale Shiraz that brings together generous dark fruit, spice and structure in a contemporary South Australian style. The 2022 vintage shows lifted aromatics, a supple yet full-flavoured palate and fine tannins, making it a strong example of the richness and balance for which McLaren Vale Shiraz is known.

Slight change in name this year, as well as a retailoring of the bottle livery. What remains is the mandate to deliver quality wine for a modest price. Sitting up from medium weight, with older oak shaping but flavouring, there’s redcurrant and loganberry, blueberry, woody herbs, cassia, some subtle lavender and mint, plus a ferrous mineral back note. Aroma: Red plum, mulberry, dark berries and subtle flowering herb notes with a touch of spice.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied, with blackcurrant, plum and dark fruit layered with gentle spice, floral nuance and hints of chocolate.
Finish: Long and structured, with fine tannins and a lingering fruit-driven close.

About the Winery / History

Chalk Hill Wines is a family owned South Australian producer with a long winemaking history linked to six generations of the Harvey family. Based in McLaren Vale, the winery is known for producing modern regional wines that reflect both heritage and a contemporary approach to viticulture and winemaking.
