The 2015 vintage from Scopetone is a classic Brunello, showcasing the richness and structure of a warm, balanced growing season in Montalcino. In the glass, it displays a deep garnet hue with brilliant clarity.
On the nose, it opens with complex aromas of dark cherry, dried rose petals, and crushed herbs, layered with nuances of leather, tobacco, and a touch of scorched earth. Subtle notes of cedar and spice from barrel aging add depth without overpowering the fruit.
The palate is full-bodied and firmly structured, offering flavors of ripe red plum, black cherry, and dried fig, supported by finely grained tannins and vibrant acidity. Hints of balsamic, forest floor, and savory spice emerge on the mid-palate, leading to a long, focused finish that speaks of both elegance and aging potential.
A refined and traditionally styled Brunello, the 2015 Scopetone is drinking beautifully now but will reward further cellaring over the next 10–15 years.
