Maretti Langhe Nebbiolo 2023 is a very approachable take on Piedmont’s great red grape. It has the perfume and structure you expect from Nebbiolo, but in a softer, easier style that is ready to enjoy now.

Red cherry and raspberry lead the way, with darker berries, dried herbs and a little leather underneath. The palate is medium bodied and smooth, with fine tannins giving it shape without making it feel too firm.

This gives you proper Langhe Nebbiolo character at a very approachable price. If you like Pinot Noir, lighter Italian reds or want to dip a toe into Nebbiolo without heading straight to Barolo pricing, this is a very easy place to start.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Red cherry, raspberry, dark berries, dried herbs and subtle leather.

Palate: Medium bodied and smooth with bright red fruit, gentle savoury notes and fine tannins.

Finish: Dry and balanced with lingering cherry, herbs and a lightly earthy edge.

Maretti is a Piedmont wine label focused on classic regional varieties and styles, with Nebbiolo sitting right at the heart of the range.

The Langhe sits in north-west Italy, surrounded by the Alps and home to some of the world’s most famous Nebbiolo vineyards. This version keeps things much more relaxed than Barolo or Barbaresco, showing bright fruit, perfume and fine tannins without demanding years in the cellar first.

It is a polished introduction to Nebbiolo, which is useful because not every Italian red needs to arrive with a lecture and a 15 year drinking window.

Cellaring Potential

Maretti Langhe Nebbiolo 2023 is approachable now, but the fine tannin and natural acidity mean it should also develop nicely over the next three to five years.
