Crafted by the Brothers Duncan at Dune, this Shiraz leans into purity, lift and finesse rather than heaviness, offering a contemporary style that’s perfect for both weeknight sipping and relaxed entertaining.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Red and black cherry, plum, blueberry, lifted violets and subtle spice.
Palate: Medium-bodied and juicy with vibrant dark fruits, hints of cocoa, gentle earthiness and soft, polished tannins.
Finish: Smooth, fresh and lightly savoury with lingering berry and floral lift.
Food Pairing / Serving Suggestions
Match with chargrilled lamb chops, mushroom pizza, slow-cooked beef ragù or roasted vegetables with herbs. Serve at 15–17°C to highlight its freshness.
About the Winery / Region
Dune is a boutique McLaren Vale producer focusing on minimal-intervention wines shaped by the region’s coastal influence. The Blewitt Springs sub-region is renowned for its elevated vineyards, sandy soils and cooling breezes producing Shiraz with perfume, elegance and natural acidity. Dune’s hands-off approach allows the fruit to speak clearly, resulting in expressive and vibrant wines.
Whilst McLaren Vale is not a large region it is geologically diverse. The Blewitt Springs sub-region is known for deep sandy soils on yellow clays. Shiraz typically ripens later here than other parts of McLaren Vale and displays different characteristics. The sandy soils typically produce shiraz of lifted dark fruit, floral and meaty notes, the tannin is fine yet chalky and the wines are often medium bodied rather than full. - Dune Wine

Best enjoyed young for its energy and freshness, but can cellar 5–7 years for added savoury complexity.
