Dandelion Vineyards Shiraz 2024 is everything you want from a good Barossa red, just in a very handy half bottle.

Ripe plum and blackberry lead the way, with aniseed, bay leaf, mint, coffee, dark chocolate and cedar adding plenty of depth. The palate is rich and plush, but fresh acidity keeps the fruit lifted, while fine powdery tannins give the wine shape without making it feel heavy.

This gives you proper Barossa Shiraz character in a 375ml format that is perfect for one or two glasses. It is rich enough to feel satisfying, and balanced enough to stay fresh.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Ripe plum, aniseed, bay leaf, mint, coffee, dark chocolate and cedar.

Palate: Full bodied and plush with blackberry, plum, raisin, savoury spice and finely grained tannins.

Finish: Long and balanced with lingering dark fruit, cocoa, mint and fresh acidity.

About The Winery

Dandelion Vineyards is a South Australian producer built around a simple idea: find great old vineyards, work with them carefully and let the fruit do most of the talking.

The 2024 Shiraz comes from the Barossa and shows the classic richness the region is known for, but with a fresher, more savoury edge than some bigger examples. There is plenty of dark fruit, but the acidity and fine tannins keep the wine lively and beautifully balanced.

It is the sort of Barossa Shiraz that still gives you all the generosity you came for, just without feeling like it needs a lie down afterwards.

Cellaring Potential

Dandelion Vineyards Shiraz 2024 is drinking well now, but the combination of fruit concentration, acidity and fine tannins should see it develop nicely over the next several years.
