With an average vine age of nearly 100 years, the Old Block Shiraz represents the depth, complexity, and character of Barossa's ancient terroir.
Tasting Notes:
The 2019 vintage presents a deep garnet hue, leading to an intricate bouquet of black cherry, satsuma plum, fennel seed, and exotic spices. On the palate, it offers a richly concentrated and well-structured profile, showcasing black cherry fruits, savory spices, and cedary oak. The mid-palate is fleshy, supported by fine tannins and balanced acidity, culminating in a long, poised finish with lingering black fruits and subtle coal nuances.
Winemaking:
The Old Block Shiraz is sourced from a selection of Barossa Valley vineyards, with the oldest vines planted in 1870 and the youngest in 1936. These vines are grown on their own rootstocks, ensuring the preservation of traditional winemaking practices. The wine undergoes meticulous fermentation and maturation processes to enhance its depth and complexity
