Rieslingfreak No.4 Eden Valley Riesling 2026 is a beautifully precise example of what Eden Valley Riesling does best. It is fragrant, citrus driven and tightly structured, with enough fruit generosity to make it immediately appealing.

Fresh lime zest, passionfruit and guava lead the way, with jasmine, rosewater and elderflower adding plenty of perfume. The palate brings finger lime, poached quince and kiwi, all carried by bright natural acidity and a distinctive slate like mineral edge.

Rieslingfreak specialises in one grape and does it exceptionally well. No.4 gives you a genuine expression of Eden Valley Riesling, with perfume, intensity and serious ageing potential, while still sitting at a very approachable price. About The Winery

Rieslingfreak was founded by John Hughes in 2009 with a very simple idea: make Riesling, and only Riesling. Together with Belinda Hughes, the range now explores different regions, vineyards and styles across South Australia, giving each wine a number that identifies its origin and style.

No.4 comes from selected family owned vineyards across the southern ranges of Eden Valley. Fruit from Flaxman Valley brings elegance, structure and acid drive, while vineyards around Angaston and Springton contribute greater aromatic intensity and flavour.

There is something rather reassuring about a producer that only makes Riesling. No distractions, no side projects, just a fairly serious obsession with getting one grape exactly right.

Cellaring Potential

The 2026 No.4 is already bright and expressive, but its acidity and concentration give it excellent ageing potential. The Wine Front lists a drinking window of 2026 to 2035 and beyond.

Collector’s Note

The 2026 vintage produced Rieslings with strong purity, elegance and regional definition despite a challenging growing season. Rieslingfreak considers the wines particularly well suited to both early drinking and patient cellaring.
