Giant Steps Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2025 is bright, fragrant and beautifully put together, with the sort of juicy red fruit and fine tannin that makes good Yarra Pinot so easy to come back to.

Ripe cherry and raspberry lead the way, with lavender, spice and darker forest fruit adding a little more depth. The palate is medium bodied, silky and energetic, with fresh acidity keeping everything lively and fine tannins giving the wine shape without getting in the way.

This wine is one of the best ways into the Giant Steps range. You get genuine Yarra Valley Pinot character, serious winemaking pedigree and a 96 point Halliday Wine Companion rating, without moving into the price of the single vineyard wines.

The 2025 Yarra Valley Pinot Noir is sourced from vineyards across the region, with 50% of the fruit coming from the Upper Yarra ranges. That mix helps bring together perfume, freshness and fruit concentration, giving the wine a really complete regional expression.

This is the regional Pinot in the Giant Steps range, but there is nothing second string about it. It has all the polish and detail you would expect from the producer, while remaining relaxed enough to open without first checking whether the occasion is important enough.

The 2025 is drinking beautifully now, but it has the structure and freshness to develop further. Halliday Wine Companion suggests enjoying it now or over the next three to four years.
