The 2024 vintage is all about freshness and easy drinking. Expect blueberry, red berries, liquorice, almond and a gentle touch of cinnamon, with fine tannins and a mouth watering finish. It is lighter and softer than Nebbiolo, making it a lovely choice for relaxed meals and anyone who enjoys fresh, food friendly Italian reds.

About The Winery

G.D. Vajra is a much loved family producer based in Barolo, Piedmont. The Vajra family has a deep respect for traditional Piedmont varieties, and Dolcetto has always held an important place in their story.

While Dolcetto can sometimes be treated as a simple everyday grape, Vajra gives it real care and attention. Their Dolcetto comes from selected sites around Barolo and Novello, helping the wine show freshness, purity and bright fruit rather than heaviness.

Dolcetto d’Alba is one of Piedmont’s classic local red wines. It is usually softer and more immediately drinkable than Nebbiolo, with juicy fruit, gentle tannin and a dry savoury finish. This makes it a brilliant bottle for pasta, pizza, antipasto, roast chicken, pork or a simple midweek Italian dinner.
