MDI Pinot Grigio 2026 is fresh, easygoing and very much built for drinking rather than overthinking.

Pear and citrus lead the way, with white flowers, subtle almond and a little honey and hay adding extra character. The palate is light bodied and dry, with lively acidity and a gently textured feel that gives the wine a bit more shape than your average Pinot Grigio.

Why buy it? Because this is Pinot Grigio with a little more personality. It is crisp and refreshing enough for warm weather, but there is enough savoury detail and texture to keep it interesting. MDI also has a strong Italian influence, so the style feels more purposeful than simply being cold, pale and easy to drink.

About The Winery

MDI is a Victorian wine project led by winemaker Kevin McCarthy, with a strong Italian influence running through the range. The focus is on varieties that suit the warmer, sunnier conditions around Mildura and the Murray Darling, producing wines that are bright, approachable and full of personality.

The 2026 Pinot Grigio comes from Mildura and is made in a crisp Italian inspired style. Cool fermentation and a short period on lees help keep the fruit fresh while adding a little texture through the middle.

It is the sort of white that works because it does not try too hard. Fresh, reliable and very easy to like, which is often exactly what you want from Pinot Grigio.

MDI Pinot Grigio 2026 is best enjoyed young while its fruit and freshness are at their brightest.
