Ayinger Bairisch Pils is a beautifully clean, classic German Pils with all the precision you would expect from one of Bavaria’s most respected family breweries.

Pale gold in the glass, it opens with fresh grain, soft bread dough and a lovely floral Hallertau hop aroma. The palate is lean, crisp and refreshing, with gentle malt sweetness quickly giving way to a firm but elegant bitterness. Nothing feels heavy, and nothing gets in the way of the next mouthful.

This is proper traditional German Pils from a brewery that takes the style very seriously. It is crisp, balanced and beautifully refreshing, with enough hop character to keep things interesting without turning into a bitterness contest.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Floral Hallertau hops, fresh grain, light bread and subtle herbal spice.

Palate: Lean and crisp with soft malt, fresh barley, floral hops and lively carbonation.

Finish: Clean and dry with a refined, lingering hop bitterness that fades neatly rather than hanging around too long.

About The Brewery

Privatbrauerei Ayinger is based in the Bavarian village of Aying, south east of Munich, and remains one of Germany’s best known independent family breweries.

The brewery is particularly respected for traditional Bavarian styles, with a strong focus on quality ingredients, careful fermentation and balance rather than excess. Bairisch Pils shows that approach perfectly. Hallertau hops provide the floral aroma and elegant bitterness, while locally sourced barley malt gives the beer its clean, lightly bready base.

It is a very polished Pilsner, but thankfully not one that requires a lecture before you drink it. Cold glass, good pour, job done.
