About The Wine

Dune Blewitt Springs Shiraz 2025 is a vibrant McLaren Vale Shiraz from the sandy soils of Blewitt Springs, one of the region’s most exciting subregions for fragrant, expressive reds. This is Shiraz with depth and generosity, but also freshness, savoury detail and lovely shape.

The 2025 release shows dark glossy fruit, sweet herbs, demerara sugar and stained cherry juice, followed by a medium bodied palate with plush fruit, fine tannins, dark spice, smoky detail, cured meat and a gravelly finish.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Dark plum, mulberry, cherry juice, sweet herbs, spice, smoke and a little savoury earth.

Palate: Medium bodied and textured with plush dark fruit, cherry, mulberry, fine tannins, spice and savoury depth.

Finish: Long and gently grippy with lingering dark fruit, smoky spice, cured meat and gravelly mineral detail.

Serving Suggestions

Enjoy with lamb, steak, roast pork, mushroom dishes, chargrilled vegetables, slow cooked beef, pizza or hard cheeses.

About The Producer

Dune Wine is a McLaren Vale project from Duncan and Peter Lloyd, with fruit sourced from a vineyard in the Blewitt Springs subregion. Duncan and Peter are part of the Lloyd family of Coriole fame, bringing deep regional knowledge and a strong connection to McLaren Vale vineyards.

Blewitt Springs is known for sandy, free draining soils over clay, helping produce wines with perfume, freshness and fine tannin shape. Dune’s vineyard story is closely tied to this site, with years of work focused on restoring vineyard health and allowing the subregion’s distinctive style to come through.

The Dune range celebrates modern McLaren Vale, bright fruit, savoury texture, balance and regional character. This Blewitt Springs Shiraz shows a more elegant side of the variety, with richness and flavour, but without excessive weight.

Dune Blewitt Springs Shiraz 2025 is delicious now for its fresh dark fruit and savoury spice. It can also be cellared over the short to medium term. Enjoy now to 2032 under good storage conditions. With time, expect more earth, leather, dried spice and savoury complexity to develop.
