Dr. Loosen is one of Germany’s most celebrated Riesling estates, led by Ernst Loosen, whose family has farmed vineyards in the Mosel for over 200 years. The Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard is among the region’s most iconic sites, a steep, south-facing slope of blue slate that produces Rieslings of extraordinary finesse, aromatic lift and longevity.
The Alte Reben (old vines) designation indicates low yielding, deep rooted vines that deliver greater concentration and complexity. Dr Loosen’s commitment to sustainable viticulture, spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention ensures that vineyard character shines clearly, making this wine a pure expression of site and season.
