Domaine Métrat et Fils Constance Chiroubles comes from old vine Gamay grown in the Chiroubles cru of Beaujolais, one of the ten recognised cru villages of the region. Chiroubles is often known for producing especially lifted, fragrant and elegant Beaujolais, helped by its higher altitude vineyard sites and granitic soils.

The Constance cuvée is sourced from vines more than 60 years old, planted on sandy granitic soil and facing full south. The site sits higher on the slope than the Métrat family’s Fleurie holdings, which helps give the wine freshness, perfume and a fine mineral edge. The wine is traditionally vinified in cement tanks using indigenous yeasts, keeping the focus on old vine Gamay fruit and the character of the vineyard.

Domaine Métrat is a family estate with deep roots in Fleurie and Beaujolais. The domaine was established under Bernard Métrat in 2008, continuing the work of the earlier André Métrat estate, with the family already well established in Fleurie for generations. The estate works across several Beaujolais appellations, including Chiroubles, Fleurie, Morgon and Moulin à Vent.

The Métrat style is traditional and expressive, with a focus on old vine Gamay, low yields, hand harvested fruit, native yeast fermentation and gentle extraction. The wines are known for purity of fruit, floral perfume, silky texture and enough structure to age well, especially from older vine parcels.
