About The Wine 

Château Les Grands Maréchaux Bordeaux 2019 is a classic right bank Bordeaux from Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, offering generous dark fruit, savoury structure and excellent value. Built around a Merlot dominant blend, it shows the plushness and roundness of ripe Bordeaux fruit, balanced by cedar, tobacco, spice and fine tannins.

The 2019 vintage is drinking beautifully now, with blackcurrant, blackberry, plum, leather, cedar and earthy spice all coming through. It is medium to full bodied, smooth and balanced, with enough grip to feel distinctly Bordeaux without being too firm.

Aroma: Blackcurrant, blackberry, black olive, plum, cedar, tobacco, praline, clove and subtle leather.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied, with dark berry fruit, mulberry, plum, vanillin cedar, spice, earthy depth and fine tannins.

Finish: Balanced and savoury, with lingering black fruit, tobacco, spice and a slightly grippy Bordeaux finish.

Serving Suggestions

Serve just below room temperature and decant for 30 to 60 minutes if opening now. Enjoy with roast lamb, beef, duck, pork, grilled meats, mushroom dishes, rich pasta, hard cheeses or slow cooked winter dishes.

Château Les Grands Maréchaux is based in Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, on the right bank of Bordeaux near the Gironde Estuary. The estate is known for producing strong value Bordeaux with ripe Merlot fruit, savoury complexity and approachable structure.

The vineyard is planted predominantly to Merlot, supported by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, on clay, limestone and sandy soils. Vineyard and winemaking advice has been associated with Stéphane Derenoncourt, a respected consultant known for his work across Bordeaux. Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux is well suited to Merlot led wines, giving richness, dark fruit, spice and fine tannin in a more accessible style than many grander appellations.
