About The Producer

Billy Button Wines is a family owned Victorian producer based in Bright, in the heart of the Alpine Valleys. The winery was established in 2014 by Jo Marsh, an experienced winemaker with a strong background in cool climate Australian wine. Jo studied agricultural science and oenology at the University of Adelaide, then worked with respected producers including Southcorp, Seppelt Great Western and Feathertop before launching Billy Button.

The name Billy Button comes from the bright yellow native alpine flower that grows across the high country. It is a fitting name for a winery that celebrates colour, character and the diversity of Victoria’s alpine wine regions.

Billy Button has become known for its adventurous range of varietal wines, working with both classic and alternative grapes across the Alpine Valleys and nearby King Valley. Riesling is one of the varieties that thrives in these cooler Victorian sites, where fresh nights, mountain influence and long ripening help preserve acidity, aromatics and natural balance.
