About The Winery

Das Juice is the natural wine project of James Audas and Tom Sheer, the team behind Lo Fi Wines. The idea was simple: produce exciting, approachable wines from quality organic and biodynamic vineyards, without the premium prices or unnecessary complications that sometimes come with natural wine.

Working with vineyards across South Australia, particularly McLaren Vale, the pair focus on fruit quality, minimal intervention and allowing each wine to express its own character. Their wines are fermented naturally, with no fining or filtration and only a small addition of sulphur at bottling.

The Red has traditionally brought together Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz from McLaren Vale, producing a lighter, brighter style than you might expect from those varieties. The emphasis is firmly on juicy fruit, freshness and gentle tannins rather than big extraction or heavy oak.

And that is really what makes Das Juice so appealing. Natural wine can sometimes become a rather complicated conversation about what has or has not been added to the bottle. These guys have a refreshingly straightforward approach. Make good wine, keep it interesting and, most importantly, make something people actually want to drink.
