Houghton Jack Mann Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is one of Western Australia’s great Cabernet releases, made in honour of legendary Houghton winemaker Jack Mann. This is the flagship red in the Houghton range, showing the depth, structure and class that have made Jack Mann one of Australia’s most respected Cabernet labels.

The 2015 vintage is now entering a beautiful drinking window, with powerful blackcurrant fruit, dark berries, cedar, tobacco, graphite and fine oak complexity. It has the richness and concentration expected from a top tier Cabernet, balanced by firm structure, savoury detail and a long, commanding finish.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Blackcurrant, cassis, dark cherry, cedar, tobacco leaf, graphite, bay leaf and polished oak.

Palate: Full bodied and deeply layered with black fruit, plum, savoury herbs, firm Cabernet tannins, dark chocolate and fine oak spice.

Finish: Long, structured and persistent with lingering cassis, cedar, earth, tobacco and mineral detail.

Serving Suggestions

Decant for at least one hour before serving. Best enjoyed at around 16 to 18 degrees with roast lamb, premium steak, slow cooked beef, aged cheddar, mushroom dishes or rich winter cooking.

Over time, expect the primary cassis and dark berry fruit to develop further notes of leather, cedar, cigar box, earth, dried herbs and savoury spice.
