About Schlenkerla

Schlenkerla is one of Bamberg’s most famous historic breweries and is internationally renowned for its traditional smoked beers. The brewery preserves the old Franconian tradition of Rauchbier, producing beers with an unmistakable smoky character alongside rich malt and beautifully balanced drinkability.

Fastenbier translates as Lent Beer and is a seasonal release traditionally produced before Easter. It is bottom fermented and left unfiltered, giving the beer its natural cloudiness, fuller texture and distinctive combination of smoke, malt and gentle bitterness.
