“Full flavoured Bavarian Export lager with soft malt, fresh bread and rounded bitterness.”

Riegele Würziges Export is a traditional Bavarian Export lager with a little more malt weight and body than your average Helles.

Fresh bread, cereal grain and soft malt lead the way, with gentle herbal hops and a rounded bitterness underneath. The palate is smooth and full flavoured, but still clean and refreshing, giving the beer a really satisfying balance between malt richness and easy drinkability. Riegele describes it as harmonious, spicy and traditionally full bodied.

This is a great choice if you like classic German lager but want something a little richer than a standard Helles. It has more malt character and slightly more weight, while still keeping that crisp, clean Bavarian finish.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Fresh bread, soft malt, cereal grain and gentle herbal hops.

Palate: Smooth and medium bodied with rounded malt, light sweetness and balanced bitterness.

Finish: Clean and satisfying with lingering grain, soft malt and a gently spicy edge.

About The Brewery

Brauhaus Riegele is based in Augsburg, Bavaria, and traces its brewing history back to 1386. The brewery remains one of the region’s best known family owned producers, with a strong focus on classic Bavarian beer styles and traditional brewing.

Würziges Export was originally brewed for export, but over time became a firm favourite in its home region as well. It is designed to sit a little fuller and maltier than a standard lager, with enough bitterness to keep everything balanced.

It is basically the stronger, maltier cousin of a Helles. Same clean Bavarian character, just with a little more weight behind it.
