Riegele Feines Urhell is exactly the sort of lager that reminds you why simple beer can be so good when everything is done properly.

Fresh grain and soft malt lead the way, with gentle herbal hops and a clean, lightly bitter edge underneath. The palate is smooth and refreshing, with enough malt character to give it flavour without losing that crisp, easy drinking finish. About The Brewery

Brauhaus Riegele is based in Augsburg, Bavaria, and traces its brewing history back to 1386. The brewery remains one of the region’s long established family producers, with a strong focus on traditional Bavarian styles.

Feines Urhell sits right at the heart of that classic range. It is bottom fermented, bright golden in colour and deliberately balanced between fine malt and refreshing hops. Riegele matures the beer carefully and stores it particularly cold before release, helping give it that clean, polished character.

It is not trying to reinvent lager. It is simply trying to be a very good one, which is often the better plan.
