Fresh bread, soft cereal grain and gentle malt sweetness lead the way, with floral and herbal hop notes adding lift. The palate is smooth and balanced, with a clean bitterness and crisp finish that keeps everything fresh and very easy to drink.

This is a great choice if you enjoy traditional German lager but want something a little more refined. It has the softness and drinkability of a classic Bavarian beer, with just enough extra malt and hop character to make it stand out.

Brauhaus Riegele is based in Augsburg, Bavaria, and traces its brewing history back to 1386. The brewery remains one of the region’s best known family owned producers, with a strong focus on traditional Bavarian beer styles.

Commerzienrat Rieg Privat is one of the brewery’s classic premium lagers, named in honour of the Riegele family’s brewing heritage. The style is built around balance rather than intensity, with malt, hops and clean lager character all working together without any one part taking over.

It is the sort of beer that does not need to shout to feel special. Smooth, balanced and very properly Bavarian.
