Ayinger Jahrhundert Bier is a beautifully balanced Bavarian lager with a little more malt depth and roundness than a standard Helles.

Fresh bread, cereal grain and soft honeyed malt lead the way, with gentle floral hops and a clean herbal edge underneath. The palate is smooth and polished, with enough body to feel satisfying while still finishing crisp and refreshing.

This is a great choice if you like classic German lager but want something with a little more character and history behind it. Jahrhundert Bier was created to celebrate the brewery’s 100th anniversary, and it has remained one of Ayinger’s signature releases ever since.

This beer was first brewed in 1978 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our brewery. It has a golden yellow colour with a slightly flowery yeast, honeyish aroma, tastes a little spicy and is full-bodied in the initial taste, mild before swallowing and soft with a refined sparkle and fades with a well balanced hint of bitterness. It is an especially drinkable and harmonious beer. About The Brewery

Privatbrauerei Ayinger is based in Aying, south east of Munich, and is one of Bavaria’s best known independent family breweries.

Jahrhundert Bier was first brewed to mark Ayinger’s 100th anniversary and has since become a permanent part of the range. The style sits somewhere between a Helles and a stronger Export lager, with extra malt richness but the same clean, polished character Ayinger is known for.

The result is traditional, refined and very easy to drink. Basically, the sort of anniversary beer that had enough going for it to stick around long after the party ended.
