A pioneer in the champagne trade, the Ruinart House has stood out due to its unique know-how and history. The son of Nicolas Ruinart, brother of Dom Ruinart, himself named Nicolas, opened the companies first account book on 1st september 1729 with the following declaration, “in the name of God and the Saint Virgin shall this book be commenced.” This entry was to be the official act establishing France’s First Champagne House. This Ruinart Blanc de Blancs is crafted from 100% Premier Cru Chardonnay vineyards producing a delicate and elegant wine with a very fine bead. The nose is floral with acacia and honeysuckle which slip harmoniously onto the silky rich palate. Delicious on all accounts this is always one of our most popular Champagnes.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: A luminous pale golden-yellow hue with subtle green glints, enhanced by a transparent bottle that accentuates its brilliance.

Nose: Fresh and expressive aromas of citrus fruits, particularly lemon and grapefruit, intertwined with delicate notes of white flowers and a hint of almond.

Palate: A supple and harmonious attack on the palate, offering a voluptuous texture and vinosity that is not excessive. The wine is supported by excellent freshness, leading to a very refreshing mineral finish 

Finish: A long and elegant finish, characteristic of a well-crafted Blanc de Blancs Champagne.

"The Ruinart NV Brut Blanc de Blancs is appealing in a rather simple, fresh apple and lemonade way – attractively garlanded in honeysuckle and heliotrope - its dominantly fruity character arguably influenced by the high proportion lots from Champagne’s relatively outlying Sezanne and Vallee de la Vesle, and certainly by the completion of malo-lactic conversion. A salty tang and piquant twist of lemon rind lend some invigoration to the finish and help temper the surprisingly noticeable sweetening effect of nine grams residual sugar.
