Crafted by Barry & Jan Morey using biodynamic principles and wild fermentation, this wine is renowned for its texture, mineral drive, and effortless balance. The 2025 release continues the Sorenberg legacy: elegant, layered, and highly collectable.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Lemon zest, fresh herbs, passionfruit, and white peach with flinty minerality and subtle lanolin.
Palate: Textural and precise, showing citrus, stone fruit, gentle tropical notes, and creamy mid-palate weight from barrel and lees work.
Finish: Long, savoury, and beautifully balanced with minerality and refreshing acidity.

Food Pairing / Serving Suggestions

About the Winery

Founded in 1978, Sorenberg is a tiny, family-run biodynamic estate in Beechworth, producing some of Australia’s most sought-after wines. The Morey family farms their vineyards with uncompromising care, favouring low yields, wild ferments, natural acidity, and gentle oak handling. Their SBS blend has developed a cult following for its purity, consistency, and unmistakable sense of place.

Cellaring Potential

Drink now for vibrancy or cellar confidently until 2035 as it develops honey, lanolin, and savoury complexity, famously long-lived for an SBS.

Collector’s Note

Sorenberg releases frequently sell out on allocation, with past vintages earning 96–98 points from Halliday and Top 100 status for its structure, texture, and exceptional ageing potential. The 2025 vintage is expected to follow suit, a genuine collector’s wine with cult status.
