Rob Hall Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2025 is a gorgeous little Pinot and seriously good value for the quality in the bottle. It is light, fragrant and silky, with plenty of fresh red fruit and just enough savoury detail to keep things interesting. Philip Rich awarded it an impressive 95 points for Halliday Wine Companion.

Strawberry and cherry lead the way, with rose, lavender, cranberry and a little spice adding lift and perfume. The palate is fresh and beautifully balanced, with fine tannins and lovely fruit concentration without any heaviness. It finishes silky, long and very easy to go back to.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Strawberry, cherry, cranberry, rose, lavender and gentle spice.

Palate: Light to medium bodied with fresh red fruit, bright acidity, lovely concentration and fine silky tannins.

Finish: Long and smooth with lingering strawberry, florals, subtle spice and a gentle savoury edge.

Mainly destemmed with a small number of whole bunches. Light bright crimson. Delicate and perfumed with strawberry, rose and lavender. The palate is equally delicate, with lovely persistence and balanced, svelte tannins. Finishes silky and long. A lovely and well-priced wine to drink now and over the next two to three years. About The Winery

Rob Hall is a Yarra Valley winemaker with plenty of experience behind him, including more than 10 vintages at Mount Mary before establishing his own label. His wines have become known for combining classic Yarra Valley character with excellent drinkability and very fair pricing.

The 2025 Pinot Noir brings together fruit from five Yarra Valley vineyards including Harriet’s Vineyard, Full Moon, Boat O’Craigo, Nenagh Park and Willow lake. The result is a beautifully fragrant Pinot that feels polished but never overworked.

Cellaring Potential

Rob Hall Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2025 is drinking beautifully now and is really all about freshness, perfume and silky texture. Halliday reviewer Philip Rich recommends enjoying it through to around 2030, so there is no need to rush, but it certainly does not need years in the cellar either.

Collector’s Note

The 2025 Rob Hall Pinot Noir is exceptional value for a highly rated Yarra Valley Pinot. It is the sort of bottle worth grabbing a few of, with enough polish for a special dinner but still approachable enough for a relaxed night at home.
