Curly Flat Pinot Noir 2023 is a beautifully detailed Macedon Ranges Pinot with loads of perfume, freshness and depth. It is elegant rather than heavy, with red and dark berries, cherry and wild strawberry sitting alongside spice, cedar and a gentle savoury edge.

The palate is juicy and silky, with fine tannins and a lovely mineral feel carrying the fruit through to a long finish. There is enough structure here to reward a little time in the cellar, but with some air it is already showing plenty of charm. This is classic cool climate Pinot with real finesse and character.

Aroma: Red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, blackcurrant, floral spice and subtle cedar.

Palate: Medium bodied and silky with juicy red and dark berries, fresh acidity, gentle spice and fine savoury tannins.

Finish: Long and elegant with lingering cherry, wild berries, cedar and a clean mineral edge.

About The Winery

Curly Flat is one of the benchmark producers of the Macedon Ranges, based near Lancefield in one of mainland Australia’s coolest wine regions. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the heart of the estate, with the cool conditions helping produce wines with perfume, natural freshness and fine structure.

The 2023 Estate Pinot Noir brings together eleven separate vineyard parcels from across the property. The result is a layered expression of the Curly Flat site, combining bright fruit with darker savoury characters and beautifully integrated tannins.

It's a really smart bottle for anyone who loves elegant Victorian Pinot and wants something with enough depth to enjoy now or put away for a few years.

Cellaring Potential

Curly Flat Pinot Noir 2023 can be enjoyed now with some time in the glass, but it should become even more expressive with further bottle age. We recommend drinking through to around 2035, while Campbell Mattinson suggests a window from 2027 to 2034 and beyond.
