Château Lafon-Rochet Saint Estèphe 2016 is a beautifully poised Médoc red from one of the Left Bank’s most reliable addresses. From a standout Bordeaux vintage, it layers pure blackcurrant and dark plum fruit over cedar, graphite and minty herbal detail, finishing long and structured with refined tannins. A proper claret for collectors and a brilliant bottle to open after a little air.

Aroma: Blackcurrant, blackberry and dark plum with cedar, tobacco, dried herbs and a lift of mint.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied, polished and precise, dark fruit concentration with finely woven tannins and classy oak spice.

Finish: Long, savoury and persistent, with fresh cassis and graphite-like structure.
