Thick as Thieves Pinot/Gamay 2024 is a vibrant, small-batch red from the Yarra Valley that celebrates the art of blending. Juxtaposing the elegance of Pinot Noir with the liveliness of Gamay, it’s a wine brimming with energy, texture, and charm. Made in a minimal-intervention style, this is winemaker Syd Bradford’s ode to the playful side of cool-climate winemaking — bright, juicy, and impossible not to love.

65/35% gamay/pinot noir; the parcels are fermented separately with the gamay made with 100% whole bunches and the pinot with 25% whole bunches. A light crimson purple. An uber-fragrant bouquet featuring red summer fruits, floral notes, tobacco leaf and a little Dashi soy! Gently fleshy, flavoursome and long. Thick as Thieves, founded by winemaker Syd Bradford, is a Yarra Valley boutique label dedicated to hand-crafted, small-lot wines that challenge convention. With a focus on minimal intervention, wild ferments, and sustainable vineyard practices, Thick as Thieves has built a cult following for its purity, energy, and fearless expression of site. The Pinot/Gamay blend is inspired by Beaujolais traditions but distinctly Australian in freshness and flair.
