About The Wine

Kellermeister Wild Witch Shiraz 2021 is a full bodied Barossa Valley Shiraz with impressive depth, richness and polish. This is a serious red built around concentrated dark fruit, layered spice and supple tannins, delivering the kind of power and generosity that makes Barossa Shiraz so compelling. The 2021 vintage has been especially well received, showing both immediate appeal and the structure to develop beautifully in bottle.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Blackberry, ripe cherry, kirsch, dark plum, black pepper and dried herbs.

Palate: Plush and concentrated, with black and blue berries, dark plum, clove, liquorice and a generous, textured core.

Finish: Long and luxurious, with succulent tannins, dark fruit richness and lingering spice.

Serving Suggestions

A superb match for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, slow cooked beef, venison or aged cheddar.

About the Winery / Producer / Region

Kellermeister is a family owned Barossa producer founded in 1976. The winery was established by Ralph Jones and later taken over by winemaker Mark Pearce and his family in 2012, continuing a focus on small batch wines with strong regional character. Wild Witch sits as one of the flagship Shiraz releases in the range, reserved for exceptional Barossa vintages.

Cellaring Potential

This wine is built to reward cellaring and has the concentration, tannin structure and balance to age confidently over the medium to long term under good conditions.

Collector’s Note

The 2021 vintage won the Best Barossa Shiraz Trophy at the 2023 International Wine Challenge and was rated 96 points there as well.
