Domaine Famille Paquet Mâcon Villages Nos Cinq Terroirs 2025 is a beautifully approachable white Burgundy made from 100% Chardonnay in the Mâconnais. The fruit comes from five different vineyard areas, which is where the name, meaning “Our Five Terroirs”, comes from.

Fresh peach, citrus and pear lead the way, with white flowers, acacia honey and a subtle almond character adding depth. The palate is rounded and generous without becoming heavy, finishing with fresh acidity, gentle spice and a lightly saline mineral edge.

This is a very good introduction to white Burgundy if the prices of some famous appellations have started making you nervous. You still get proper Chardonnay character, freshness and regional personality, just without needing to reconsider the household budget.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Fresh peach, pear and citrus with white flowers, acacia honey and a subtle almond note.

Palate: Dry and rounded with stone fruit, lime and citrus, balanced by fresh acidity and gentle mineral character.

Finish: Fresh and persistent with lingering citrus, white flowers, subtle spice and a lightly saline edge.

Serving Suggestions

Excellent with scallops, prawns, grilled fish and other fresh seafood. The producer also recommends poultry and serving it as an aperitif.

Serve around 12°C to 13°C. It has enough texture for richer seafood and chicken dishes while retaining the freshness that makes a second glass extremely easy to justify.

About The Winery

Famille Paquet is based in Davayé in the Mâconnais, close to the famous limestone landmarks of Solutré and Vergisson. The estate was established by Jocelyne and Michel Paquet in 1980 and is now run by their sons Jean Baptiste, Mathieu and Camille. The family's vineyards are certified organic, with biodynamic principles also used in their approach to farming.

Nos Cinq Terroirs brings together Chardonnay from different sites across the Mâconnais, creating a regional expression rather than focusing on a single vineyard. It is Burgundy without too much ceremony, which can be a particularly attractive quality when Burgundy itself occasionally forgets how complicated it has become.

Cellaring Potential

The 2025 is delicious young for its fresh peach, citrus and floral character, but there is enough balance and structure for some bottle development.

Enjoy now or cellar over the next 5 to 8 years. Current European listings suggest the wine can continue developing through approximately 2036.
