Dominique Portet Fontaine Rose 2026 750ml

“Classic Yarra Valley rosé with strawberry, raspberry, watermelon and a crisp dry finish.”

Dominique Portet Fontaine Rosé 2026 is the latest release of one of the Yarra Valley's best known dry rosés, and the 2026 keeps firmly to the fresh, Provence inspired style that has made this wine such a reliable favourite.

Strawberry, raspberry and watermelon lead the way, with delicate florals, citrus and a subtle herbal edge adding freshness. The palate is light and crisp, with juicy red berry and gentle stone fruit flavours carried by lively acidity into a clean, properly dry finish.

This is exactly the sort of rosé you want chilled and ready to go when the weather improves. Plenty of fruit, no unnecessary sweetness and enough flavour to make the second glass seem like an entirely sensible decision.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Fresh strawberry and raspberry with watermelon, delicate florals and citrus.

Palate: Light and crisp with juicy red berries, citrus and gentle stone fruit, balanced by bright acidity.

Finish: Dry, clean and refreshing with lingering red fruit and a subtle herbal note.

Serving Suggestions

Excellent with grilled prawns, kingfish ceviche, calamari, fresh seafood and watermelon and feta salad.

It is equally at home with antipasti, summer salads and lighter Mediterranean dishes. Serve well chilled and preferably somewhere involving sunshine.

About The Winery

Dominique Portet established his Yarra Valley winery after a career that included winemaking in France and Australia. His family history in wine stretches back through generations in Bordeaux, and that French influence remains particularly easy to see in Fontaine Rosé.

The wine has long been made in a dry, Provence inspired style, combining bright fruit with freshness and a generous mouthfeel rather than relying on sweetness.

It is the sort of rosé that proves pale pink wine can be taken seriously without anyone actually having to behave seriously while drinking it.

Cellaring Potential

The 2026 is all about freshness and immediate drinking pleasure.

Enjoy now and over the next couple of years while the red berry, watermelon and citrus characters are at their brightest. The Wine Front lists a drinking window of 2026 to 2028 for this exact vintage.
