About the Distillery / Region

Founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky, Nikka operates two major distilleries: Miyagikyo and Yoichi. The Coffey Grain expression is produced at Miyagikyo Distillery, where the rare Coffey stills imported from Scotland in the 1960s create spirits with exceptional texture and character.
