Elegant yet powerful, Nanny Goat Super Nanny Pinot Noir 2023 is a premium expression of Central Otago's coolclimate winemaking. Crafted from hand picked fruit and aged in French oak, this bold Pinot Noir offers layers of dark cherry, wild raspberry, spice, and earthy complexity, balanced by fine tannins and a long, silky finish. A bold yet graceful Pinot Noir for serious wine lovers.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Wild raspberry, blueberry, dried rose petal, chamomile, black olive, dried thyme, sun baked earth and brown baking spice. 
Palate: Juicy cherry and red plum, with a filigree of powdery tannin building through the mid palate. 
Finish: Long and balanced, with fruit, tannin and acid in harmony.

Serving Suggestions

Serve at 14–16°C or lightly chilled in warmer weather. A natural match for duck, game, or mushroom based dishes.

Winemaking

Hand harvested, gently destemmed to small open top fermenters with a large proportion of whole berries and 14% whole bunch. Natural fermentation with extended maceration (30 - 32 days on skins) before pressing to 225L French oak (19% new) for 14 months. Bottled with minimal fining and filtration.

Nanny Goat Vineyard is based in Queensberry, Central Otago, and has built its reputation on site expressive Pinot Noir, working with both its home vineyard and partner vineyards across key Central Otago subregions.  James Halliday's Wine Companion notes the estate’s Queensberry terraces and the range’s subregional focus including Bendigo and Pisa, with Super Nanny positioned as one of the more serious, structured wines in the lineup.
