Leeuwin Estate Art Series Shiraz 2023 is a beautifully detailed Margaret River Shiraz with finesse, purity and depth. This vintage feels refined and composed, layering dark berry fruit, graphite, savoury spice and fine tannin into a style that is polished without losing energy. This is a cool, elegant expression of Shiraz that shows both immediate appeal and the structure to age gracefully.

A very good vintage and a very good shiraz, starting with its excellent dark purple-garnet hue. Being an aromatic variety, it doesn’t disappoint with florals and warm brown spices, cedar wood, blackcurrants and plums. Fuller bodied, with firm and plentiful tannins that coat the palate, giving it structure and an almost stern edge. Fresh acidity comes through nicely. Jane Faulkner

Aroma: Blackberries, dark cherries, cassis, bay leaf, liquorice, charcuterie and graphite.

Palate: Delicate, woven and layered, with blackberries, black pastille, blueberries and a fine graphite line through the mid-palate.

Finish: Long, savoury and finely structured, with bright acidity and elegant tannin carrying through the close.

A beautiful match for roast lamb, duck, chargrilled beef, mushroom dishes or aged hard cheeses.
