Penfolds RWT Bin 798 Shiraz 2017 is the house’s iconic single region Barossa expression crafted to spotlight aromatic lift, lush texture and a more opulent, French oak driven style. First released from the 1997 vintage (after its original “Red Winemaking Trial” beginnings), RWT has become a modern classic for collectors chasing serious depth with sleek refinement.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Mulberry, blackberry and plum with liquorice, star anise, vanilla spice and subtle toasted oak.
Palate: Full bodied and concentrated, dark berries, sweet spice, savoury nuances and finely woven, chocolaty tannins.
Finish: Long, powerful and persistent with a polished, French oak frame and lingering spice.

Food Pairing / Serving Suggestions

Serve at 16 to18°C and decant 30 to 60 minutes to let the perfume and structure open up. Ideal with roast lamb, chargrilled beef, peppery sausages, mushroom dishes, or aged hard cheeses.
