Vineyard And Winemaking

Orphan Bank was created to preserve a small collection of historic Barossa Shiraz vines that were threatened by property development. The vines were carefully relocated beside Langmeil’s original vineyard near the North Para River, giving them a new home and allowing their story to continue.

The cooler 2023 season produced a fresher and more restrained expression of Barossa Shiraz. Careful winemaking has preserved the ripe fruit and spice while building smooth texture, fine tannins and the structure required for long term cellaring.
