Very deep red/purple colour, the bouquet pungent, oaky and super-ripe, with tomato bush and violet notes. There's a big tannin grip and a fair degree of chewiness. Some humus-like notes. The palate is broad, hefty and slightly chewy. Lots of grunt for the money here.
